The Treehouse is an Australian network made up of local evangelical churches. We are a ministry of reconciliation, expressing what Jesus has won for us on the cross, through obedience to God’s Word. We seek to express reconciliation in our local church and between our local churches. Our emphasis on loyalty produces communities of continuity as we disciple young people to be committed to Jesus and their local church. The Treehouse churches work together in our region to maximise their evangelistic effectiveness for the glory of God.
We are not a para-church organisation. Our primary focus is
to pass on the gospel to the next generation in our local churches. Our
secondary focus is to discover how we can better work together in this
task. We gather as local churches in the TreeHouse in two ways. First,
the Treehouse orgainises the voluntary ministries in our local
Kirrawee High School and Gymea High School. This includes Chip lunches,
volunteer scripture, and student led Bible Studies. Second, the
Treehouse provides us with opportunities to share fellowship and
mission in gatherings outside of the schools.
As leaders of this network we are committed to seeing our
local churches grow through evangelism and not through transfer growth
of Christians leaving their church to come to ours. We are committed to
the whole kingdom of God and its local expression at the same time. We
minister as local churches within and outside of the schools. This is
not a competitive relationship but instead we are devoted to each other
in brotherly love. This is expressed in the local schools. We do not
hand out advertising at the school. And it is expressed outside the
schools as we help all our churches to grow not just our home church.
